About Gretchen Klens

Playful. Earth-rooted. Design-savvy.

Hey, I’m Gretchen — artist, designer, communicator, and outdoor enthusiast living and creating in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (Wobanadenok, ancestral lands of the Abenaki people).

I make art and design that honors the Earth and all her seasons. Whether through illustration, branding, or merch design, my work is rooted in the belief that everything is connected — and that design can be both beautiful and deeply meaningful.

My art practice explores the wild, the whimsical, and the sacred. It’s inspired by the rhythms of nature, psychedelic wonder, and the quiet intelligence of the more-than-human world.

Beyond my personal artwork, I collaborate with mission-driven organizations doing good for the Earth. I specialize in graphic design, branding, website/presentation design, communications strategy, and creative direction — currently working with The BioFi Project, Adventure East, and the Alliance for the Mystic River Watershed. I love helping values-aligned teams tell their stories clearly and beautifully.

When I’m not making art, you can find me backcountry skiing, mountain biking, trail running, or sipping herbal tea with my friends.

At the heart of it all is a love for this magical planet — a love I hope ripples through everything I create.

Mission

To create playful, Earth-honoring art and design that uplifts, inspires, and supports individuals and organizations working toward a regenerative, interconnected future.

Vision

A thriving world where creativity is a tool for healing, storytelling, and collective transformation — where art and design help people reconnect with nature, each other, and themselves.

I envision my work rippling outward — fueling joy, reflection, and meaningful action in service of the Earth and all her beings.
